5 Tips to Making the Perfect Grilled Cheese Sandwich

While the grilled cheese sandwich does not take a lot of culinary expertise, there are still some easy tips to follow to ensure every one you grill up is made to perfection!

PROBLEM: Ripping bread when trying to spread butter.

TIP: Spread room temp butter evenly across the entire slice – all the way up to the corners to ensure it toasts evenly.

PROBLEM: Cheese takes forever to melt.

TIP: Use shredded cheese –grating or shredding the cheese will help ensure that it melts faster and more evenly.

PROBLEM: Burning grilled cheese!

TIP: Cook your grilled cheese at medium-low temp. This will help stop the bread from burning but ensure that you have enough cook time to get melted perfection.

PROBLEM: Not sure when to flip!?

TIP: The peek – use your spatula to slightly lift one corner of the sandwich. If you feel resistance, its time to flip.

PROBLEM: My bread is perfect but the cheese isn’t melted yet.

TIP: You can transfer your sandwich to a preheated 200F oven for a few minutes until the cheese melts.
